Electric cranes enable cleaner, safer and more energy-efficient lifting

Electric cranes are the best option for many operators in different fields who value ecology, safety and a noise-free working environment. As emission-free and silent machinery, they can also be used in places where the use of internal combustion engine cranes causes disturbances, health hazards and potential hazards.

We want to do our part in working towards a greener future, so reducing emissions is important to us. That’s why we were the first company in Finland to acquire electric cranes for our selection! At the moment, we offer the only mobile electric cranes in Finland for lifting tasks. However, low emissions are not the only benefits offered by electric cranes. These three things make electric cranes an attractive option!

  1. Electric cranes reduce the total carbon footprint of a construction site

Ecology and low emissions have rapidly entered any sector, and emission targets may already be set at construction industry construction sites, for example. Our electric cranes are an important addition to our diverse crane selection and ensure that we are able to meet our customers’ needs also from an environmental perspective.

As the name implies, electric cranes run on electric current, so they do not produce any emissions during operation. In this way, electric cranes help reduce the carbon footprint of the construction site and do not cause air pollution.

“Completely emission-free electric cranes make it possible to reduce the overall carbon footprint of construction sites. An environmentally certified construction site also gets the full benefit of an electric crane, as the use of diesel does not need to be compensated,” says Kristian Ahonen, our salesperson familiar with electric cranes.

  1. Emission-free, odourless and silent electric crane increases site safety

Emission-free electric cranes enable safer working in spaces where machines powered by internal combustion engines cause health hazards. For example, in an enclosed space, electric cranes do not accumulate exhaust gas in the working environment and airways.

Electric cranes also operate much quieter than internal combustion engine cranes. The sound could be compared to the hum of an electric car. In the vicinity of the crane, it is possible to converse at normal volume without drowning speech under the roar.

Ahonen highlights the fact that low-noise machines create a safe environment:

“Safety increases when engine noise does not mask other sounds. If a dangerous situation arises and you have to warn by shouting, the sound of a diesel engine drowns out the warnings. Especially when working in a pocket between houses, the noise caused by the diesel engine echoes from all directions, making it impossible to locate other sounds.

  1. Allows you to work in sensitive areas and at night

Thanks to their emission-free nature, electric cranes can also be used in customer environments where exhaust gases are particularly harmful. Electric cranes can be used more carefree, for example, in the vicinity of kitchen facilities and hospital areas.

The silence of the electric motor, on the other hand, is particularly useful when working in residential areas, noise-sensitive workplaces or at night, for example. The electric crane is also in its element during night lifting, when there is a need for lifting in an urban area.

“Our first project with electric cranes was in a hospital area where the facilities focus on demanding specialised medical care. In this way, the quiet sound of the cranes did not disturb important work or the patients, Ahonen rejoices.

Our selection has almost 100 cranes, of which  three will be electric cranes this year. We also offer services with low-emission diesel, which contributes to reducing emissions. Ask for low-emission lifts in the offer request!
